So this is the first youtube video in this blog -- but it's so much easier than constantly IMing people the link. This song, which title is actually "Thou Shalt Always Kill", is thoroughly excellent.

The lyrics are here - but it's well worth watching.

Viva Voce

So I'm just back from day one of the Capitol Hill Block Party, which was great fun. The best of it was Viva Voce. This is the first time I've actually seen them and they were completely amazing. They are a husband and wife (kevin and anita) 2 piece that sounds nothing like a 2 piece. They both sing, the Kevin plays the drums primarily, but also electronics, guitar and the harmonica. Anita just plays the guitar, but she plays a few including a freaking huge double necked monster. And she rocks out in amazing ways on them. Although considering how much the whole sound rocks, perhaps it's just required to be amazing. Wow.

You should be able to listen to the show from the KEXP Archive for a few weeks.

Music

Last night I went to see The Hands and Thee Emergency at the Sunset. It was a good concert - The Hands were down a member so not quite on target, but still enjoyable. Thee Emergency on the other hand were their usual incredibly high energy selves. Pretty fun just to watch them. And highly interactive in and out of the audience - and for the last number dancing on the bar. Amazing. Even if as apparently required - I didn't get out of there without someone from throwing bottles beer over the audience - and getting it all over me. I'd love to attend a concert of theirs where I don't leave smelling of beer. I really would.

Also - and unrelated - The Beta Band 3 EPs is one of the best disks ever - It's almost a decade old now and still amazing.
