You could watch the penguins from elaborately constructed hides in New Zealand. Most of the adult penguins were out in the ocean hunting for food. This young penguin was walking on the trail humans use to get in and out of the area, so we had to keep our distance and wait for it to waddle on away. You can see one of the hides in the background.
